Alaska in October?
We want to go to Kenai Peninsula on the first week of October. So,we d'like to know: Is it possible to drive from Anchorage to Seaward and maybe Homer at this time of the year? What about ice on the road? We are from Brazil and not used to it, nor to the kind of cold we may find,I think. Can we still get in a day cruise to the Fjords? Will the trip be too limited at this time of the year or is it worth to go anyways?
What do you think?
Thank's in advance for your thoughts.

The area where you will traveling is right on the ocean, which greatly moderates the temperature. It may well be stormy and windy, but snow itself is unlikely -- although POSSIBLE. Watch the weather carefully, and be prepared to sit out a day due to weather too dangerous for travel.
At least one Kenai Fjords boat tour

keeps running through October 6th.
If the weather is nice and the view is clear, a boat tour into Kenai Fjords is worth every penny you spend. We saw enough wildlife to last a lifetime, as well as a 100 meter glacier moving into the ocean (no calving, however).
