Hi Enzian,

Sounds great, I do already have the link book marked to that kayaking trip.

So little time, so many choices.

Enzian, this is a wonderful report. Thanks for so much information. I'd love to plan a return trip to Alaska, and your Denali lodging intrigues me. Were the hikes from there (easy, medium and hard) all guided hikes?

Samsaf, they offer the three levels of guided hikes each day, but you are also free to hike on your own if you prefer. You can borrow a bike to get to different areas besides the trails right from camp.

That sounds like an amazing trip, enzian! I'm leaning strongly toward keeping my "big" vacation in the US next year (my passport's been getting a lot of use in the last few years), and this certainly advocates strongly in Alaska's favor.

Well done on the trip report and congratulations on the grandchildren!

Enzian - I enjoyed reading your trip report. We are going to Alaska in August 2013 and are planning to rent a car in Fairbanks, drive to Denali and fly/bus in and out of the park, staying at Skyline Lodge. I have a simple, practical question - where can we park the rental car while are in the park for two days? Thanks.

Thanks for posting your great adventure! I enjoyed reading it. I've lived in Anchorage for six years and never gone into Denali park; reading this makes me want to go.

Cheers Enzian!
