Lynette:

Holland America is an excellent choice. We took the inside passage trip combined with the land package, a total of eighteen days, and loved every minute of it. Our ship was the Westerdam.

P.S. Using all capital letters on a computer is the equivalent of shouting - - - not necessary.

Have fun on your trip!

We took Holland America on a three night cruise through the inside passage and then went on the eight night land tour.......it was all superb. I encourage you to chose a tour that includes the land portion, extremely interesting and beautiful. Our cruising weather was foggy, rainy and we were unable to see the shoreline, so delighted that we chose to go inland.

Dear Rudy, Thanks for your repy!!! I am very new at the computer thing, thanks for the advice.
I am very worried about the trip because it is all new to us , we have booked the trip , now i am worried about packing etc. It was good to hear you enjoyed it, we will be leaving on June 27 and will be on the Statendam .
Again, thank you. Lynette

Lynette,

No need to apologize. Try not to worry about things. There are plenty of people here who will help you plan. Packing isn't a big deal on a cruise because you can usually pack more than you might otherwise.

Usually the first night of the cruise is the most casual out of consideration for the late arrivals who might not have time to change for dinner, or whose luggage might not have arrived.

There is one "dress up" night. Some men wear tuxedos; others just wear suits. Most ladies wear cocktail style
dresses.

We also went on our Alaskan cruise during the last week in June and into July. You can expect some misty days, and even rain. You might have some very cool days as well. Pack a jacket and some sweaters.

When cruising the Inside Passage, keep your eye out for whales and other wildlife visible on the shore, as well as bald eagles soaring and then swooping down to feed.

You will be thrilled at the beauty in Alaska. If you have a chance to take an optional helicopter flight which lands on a glacier, do so without hesitation.

Relax and enjoy the experience of a lifetime.

Hi Lynette!
Don't worry about making mistakes on the computer; we all remember when we were just learning, too. Most of us will "gently" lead you in the right direction and offer suggestions.

Just a quick note to let you know that
the best place to ask your cruise related question is on the section dedicated to CRUISES.
You probably didn't notice it because you have to "scroll down" (the vertical gray bar on the right-hand side of your screen) when you are on the first "Travel Talk" page with the destination listings; i.e., USA, Canada, etc. before you see CRUISES.
So, go there, take a look, read from older questions and answers. Then, if you still have questions, there are lots of people who have taken several cruises over the years. They are very helpful.
Good luck and have a wonderful cruise of Alaska!
