Airport/Airline Knowledge? Raleigh-Durham Question...
We are potentially relocating to the Raleigh area and my husband would prefer to keep his job on the west coast and commute twice a month. Anyone know if any airline is planning a non-stop SFO or Oakland to Raleigh-Durham anytime in the next couple of years? Thanks for any info...

Would like nothing better than a non-stop from RDU to West Coast, but so far, the airlines seem wedded to their hub system for 2nd tier airports like RDU.
Be aware that if you fly USAir/United, it costs more to DRIVE to Charlotte (2 hrs) and board the non-stop than it does to board at RDU and connect. Idiotic.
We usually go AA via DFW or ORD (or JFK but try to avoid NYC connection), UA via Dulles, and may try Southwest via Nashville.
Keep an eye on JetBlue, though.
Also: RDU is going to open a huge new terminal part of Term. C next summer, and that will open a bunch of new gates -- so who knows what will happen. I do know that 737s are considered more fuel efficient/revenue positive than those painful Regional Jets. Here's hope.
