AIRLINES

What are the best airlines as far as price and getting there on time, etc?? You hear such bad stories that we would like some suggestions from the travelers!
Thanks-a-bunch!

Your question is pretty impossibly vague as pricing and timeliness really varies from city to city. In general, Southwest, JetBlue and other "low cost carriers" offer comparable or better pricing but don't have first class, extensive frequent flyer programs, etc.

As for industrywide "on-time" percentages, it often changes monthly. I'm not sure who's "on top" now but you can check the Dept. of Transportation site for more info.

Hope this helps! If you have specific city pairs (Point A to Point B) in mind, that could effect which carrier to use.

The question is a bit too open ended. What are the departure and arrival cities in question? (Hey, what good is knowing what we think is the best airline if it's not available to you?)

Snce you posted in the USA forum, I assume you want info on domestic flights.

Here is a BTS site that will give you all the on-time performance statistics you ever wanted and needed:

http://www.bts.gov/programs/airline_information/

and as far as fares? that's always a fun question. There is no one airline that has the best fares all the time, PERIOD!

It's as simple as that.

Now just watch others post their wonderful fare finds on airline A or B or C, but even with the beautiful and heartwarming stories you'll find that they are all about different airlines, and different routes, and different times of the year and this and that and something.....

Wednesday.

Just kidding. Your question is a bit vague but Southwest gets the highest scores year after year on the Conde Nast Traveler "Best" lists.
