Air Conditioning on Kauai...

AuntieM and all you other Kauai gurus.....will the tradewinds really cool off "hotties" like the real icee and myself?

Am looking at some 2 br condos on the north shore (Pahio) and none seem to have a/c. I really am hesitant to book a place without a/c in the bedrooms.

My friend gave me a little thing the other day that said..."I'm still hot...now, it just comes in flashes"!

We always stay at hanalei colony resort. We have traveled to kauai many, many times and in all the seasons. We did have a heat wave in the fall of 1997. The temperatures went into the ninities. An extra fan was brought in and it was perfect. We stayed oceanfront one year and the trades were so cold on the ocean side that we wore blankets to sit on the lanai. Sadly, I thought my ocean front money was wasted on that trip. We have had two children get married on the north shore in September and October. All the women were in the "flash" stage, but we were mostly fine, except in the little green church in Hanalei. it did get a tad warm around 4"oo. Hope this helps.

One of my sons and his family rented this Princeville house (just down the street from us) last T'giving -- fully A/C'd, beautifully decorated, and they loved it:

Thanks A'em....great place! The real icee's son and his wife are coming with us this trip and we want them to love Kauai as much as we do. Do you think this would be a good intro for them...or should we get closer to the ocean? They are not high maintenance and I can imagine them loving Hanalei and the area.

I can recommend that particular house highly, even to those who aren't A/C-dependent.

But if someone is beach-dependent, Hanalei would be a better choice.

Oh, none of us are beach dependent. Is this particular house near enough to walk to Happy Talk Lounge or to The Princeville. Or to a beach or whatever?

I also love the price of this place. You've met me...is Princeville too high falutin for the likes of us?

...heard from our billyboy friend lately?

You've met me...so you know I would _not_ enjoy a stroll to the Princeville Hotel or to the shopping center! But lots of our neighbors walk to the shopping center all the time -- to do their banking, to dine, to pick up mail. So if one is healthy and enjoys long walks, I guess they'd think it was fun...???

There's a path to two of the (in)famous "hidden" Princeville beaches within walking distance (yes, even for me!!). Not recommended for kids, however (steep trails).

iceeu2 -- I can recommend the house and the neighborhood highly (and you could walk to our house for a visit ...wu-huuu!)

Haven't heard a peep from our BillyBoy -- are they still in Mexico??

Ok....auntie'm, you are in trouble now! Lay on the POG...we'll bring the vodka! Plus, Charlie's son makes a mean bloody mary so get ready for Sunday brunch!

Gonna call the people tomorrow and talk to them about the house.

You know, that billyboyq should be home by now and giving us an update! He has a birthday coming up on the 7th of next month.

Isn't there a famous Italian restaurant in Princeville?

aloha ( or should I say hola?) auntie and i'2!

We just got back last night. Check both places for a report in the next day or two.

All of this inane banter about you all drinking and shmoozing is turning me into a mean greenie amp; and is gonna get you in trouble with the humourless police!

Regarding a/c: We did not need it at the love shack we stayed at in Hanalei, as the way the house was positioned, the winds blew in and kept things very pleasant. Plus the almost constant rains kept things VERY cold most of the time. Make sure there are screens on the windows so those huge bugs that the violent winds blow through the air stay outside.

Check out the Hanalei Bay resort as I think all the units have a/c.

When are you going?

I'2,

Tu es una mujer muy loco!

Marteen's birthday is in February and he is an Aquarius by two days. Whew! We would have killed each other by now if we were both Picseans!
Any other confusions I can clear up for you, my darling?

Anyone here been to Isla Mujeres? Now, that's a whole heck of a lot of crazy women, yah?

I'm glad Marteeeeeen is not a Pisces. That would be a train wreck waiting to happen, wouldn't it?

Post us some photos, senor!
