Thanks, Patty, for the suggestions. A coworker was telling me today about the Prismatic trail. Everything sounds great.
I noticed Antelope island and thought about staying nearby for my final night. I’m also entertaining the idea of Park City for my final night to scope it out fur future travel.

Thanks, clarkgriswold, for suggestions. I’ve booked my Teton accommodation but am still working on Yellowstone area and SLC.
I’m definitely limiting myself to places that have a generous cancellation policy. As I live in hurricane territory and my trip is in peak season, I like to have flexibility.
I like the BW brand and will look at the one you mentioned. I had good BW stays last month in NY and VT.

Abandon any plans to visit Yellowstone anytime this year. Over 3" of rain fell and the Gardiner River washed out many sections of road within the park. No tourists are being allowed into the park and plans are being made to evacuate tourists that are there.

It’s a bit premature to say people need abandon plans to go to Yellowstone for the remainder of the year. State government, NPS and communities will rally to get back to business as soon as they can. Maybe some parts will be inaccessible for sone time, but other parts will reopen. I’d say the best advice is for people with late summer, fall or later trips to be flexible and keep on top of developments.

I’m following updates on NPS. Looks, like they hope to open south part of park next week.
