Advice for San Diego Itinerary

Please let me know if my plans are feasible. Would leave hotel by 8:30/9:00 AM.
Day 1 Zoo/Balboa Park (this is w/o going in all museums)
Day 2 Coronado - Old Town - Pt Loma
Day 3 LaJolla - Mission Beach - Pacific Beach
What route would you recommend from LaJolla to Pacific Beach? We have a rental so will be driving. Are the beaches well marked?

Sounds like a reasonable plan to me.

At the visitor's center in Old Town, there is a free walking tour daily at 11 - might want to check the web site to make sure it hasn't changed. We found it very interesting. We also had a great lunch at a place down there called the Coyote Cafe - tastey salsa, good carnitas, handmade tortillas. They have a nice patio overlooking the street which is great for people watching.

When we were there, we didn't have any trouble finding the beaches, so I guess they are well marked. If all else fails, look for sand and water San Diego was really easy to navigate with a decent map.

I think that a must-see in San Diego is a harbor tour. It takes you past the navy base, the carrier turning basin, the nuclear submarine yard and the Seal base amongst other things. It's probably about 3 hrs.

Don't rush through Coronado. Some of the most beautiful real estate in California... great shope, the Hotel Del, and a beach that you'll never want to leave. Great for riding bikes and picnicing and just enjoying the area. I could ( and have) spent many wonderful weekends!

The above-mentioned 'Black's Beach" is a local nudist beach, FYI.
