Advice for a 15 hr layover in Miami.
Hi, I'm looking into a Belize trip in 2025. This would involve a 15 hour layover at Miami Airport. Please recommend a hotel/motel near the airport that's not too expensive or fancy. Bonus if I can find a restaurant nearby that serves good Latino/Spanish food. Thanks in advance. Greg

There’s a hotel right in the airport, just steps away from the TSA checkpoint for Terminal E (https://www.miahotel.com/amp)
Also just about every major hotel/motel chain has a facility within a couple miles outside airport property. Most of these properties offer free shuttle service between the airport and the hotel. A simple internet search for “Miami Airport Hotels with free shuttle service” will bring up links to about 100 different hotels. You can pick ones with names you are familiar with and which meet your definition of “not too expensive).

Two weeks ago, we missed our connection, and we stayed overnight near the Miami Airport. American American put us up at the Sonesta Hotel, which was acceptable, but the rooms looked like they had not been updated since the Reagan administration. They did, however, have a 24 hour shuttle that left every 20 minutes. As we headed to the hotel, I noticed a Marriott nearby, and I kicked myself for not insisting that we stay there, where I am sure the standards are higher. I did notice some restaurants in the area, even one that looked like it had a Latin theme, and was lively late on a Saturday night.
What time are you arriving, and what time are you departing? In the last year, I have had many flight changes or cancellations, so the schedule could easily change between now and then. I do not know about the Parrot Jungle, but make sure you allow plenty of time. Of course, Uber or Lyft would be cheaper than a taxi.
