Adults Only Disney Vacation help??
Hi everyone,
My husband and I had a great time in Orlando last month visiting Universal and IOA...I am now in the planning stages for our next two vacations of 2002 and I am thinking about one of them being Disney! It will be just the two of us, and although Magic Kingdom is not high on our list of places to see, MGM, Epcot and Animal Kingdom are, as well as Pleasure Island for evening entertainment...My hubby is an amusement park nut, so I hope disney will not be a a disappointment for him...I got a good rate for a 2 bedroom villa at Marriott Cypress Harbour (we only need 1 bdrm, but hey the price is good $157.00 per night, and we MAY ask our inlaws to join us), for 5 nights. I like the look of this villa, and since this is an adults only vacation, we do not need the disney themed hotels...Besides this place has a kitchen, 3 pools, poolside bar whirlpool tub, etc... Finally my questions?? How do you recommend we spend our five nights, other than disney, and should we hit the parks early in am or wait until late afternoon..Our tentative travel dates are 6/30-7/5.. and what is the weather like end of June!!!!! If its too hot, we may spend most of the days at the pool!!
Thanks

June July is very hot in Orlando . You should either go very early (get there 30min. before the park gates open) or late afternoon and stay into the evening. Take lots of bottled water, frozen neck wraps, etc... to stay comfortable.

If you are seeking an "adults only" Disney vacation you should be looking at months other than the traditional summer vacation months of June, July, August.
Try a Spring month but not Easter week - nor the week before and after.
The weather is better. *Most* schools are in session which means all places will be less crowded.

Not only is WDW busy in the summer, but you are going over the July 4th holiday so crowds will be even bigger. Go VERY early and do what ever you want to do. GetFast Past for the popular rides. If your husband likes amusement park rides, you might not want to just write off the Magic Kingdom. That's where Space Mountain and Splash mountain and Thunder Mountain are. In my opinion, none of the rides at WDW can compare to Hulk of Dueling Dragons or Spiderman at IOA!
