Activities in San Diego...something different?

I have vacationed in San Diego over the past two years and am going back in 3 days (July 15-22). I absolutely love Southern California, and wanted to know about some new suggestions for things to keep me occupied.

I enjoy all things, so don't limit your posts to one category. I love the beach, exploring, sea world, Tijuana, Horton Plaza, Coronado....anything. It's greatly appreciated.

Info : I am a teenager, and my dad and I go on vacations together since him and my mom divorced. (15 years old) We are staying at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina for 8 days. We do have a Mustang, so we can drive (not too far) to awesome locations. I would also be great if I could be sent info via emails. Thanks a bunch, Kim in New York!

I have been everywhere, so anywhere that you think is not "ordinary", or just crazy fun..post it. I would really appreciate some feedback here.
I've been to sea world, disneyland, all beaches...etc.

We spent 5 days in San Diego in April. Our 3 teenagers loved exploring the tidal pools left behind when the water goes out at low tide. Check on the internet to find out when low tide is and go a bit before this. One afternoon we went to Cabrillo Point tidal pools (follow the sign on the right side of the road that says "tidal pools" before you actually get to Cabrillo Point and veer off to the right there). Another afternoon we went to the La Jolla tidal pools. Don't miss the sea lions on the beach in La Jolla too. We spent two hours watching them!

The wildlife park does some private jeep tours if you book in advance.

Take a hike down to Black's beach. Although it was once a nudist beach it is still on of the prettier beaches in SD. Most people can't get to it because it's too hard. One of the best surf spots also.

I just came back from 5 days in san diego. I really enjoyed the city-the zoo was so beautiful with animals you cant see anywhere else. The mission beach area was great- the surf shops and bikini stores. The Mission is a great place to have breakfast.

I went to SD last summer with my family. One of the most breathtaking things I did with my 12 year old son was to go to Mt. Soledad right before sunset. It is a war memorial that pays tribute to both the living and deceased that have served our country. The view from there is amazing! You can see the mountains, the ocean, and the sun setting in the distance. We went about 5:30 and just sat up there in awe. Take a jacket though, it get's quite chilly up there. Check out www.soledadmemorial.com for more info. Also, try parasailing. We did this off Mission Bay. Check the website www.goparasailing.com. This was on my "things to do before I die" list! It was fabulous!

Head over to San Diego Mission Trails Park, which is near San Diego State University, and hike up Cowles Mountain. It's a 1.5 mile hike that will take you to the highest point within the city limits of San Diego, which is about 1,600 feet. From the top you'll be able to see downtown SD, Coronado, the Pacific Ocean, Point Loma, Mexico, and the Laguna mountains. It takes about 40 minutes to hike up and is great exercise.

The Behind the Scenes Tours at Sea World or Lunch with Shamu - both are worth the extra money.
