A new one my teenager finally clued me in to is PITR (parent in the room) - used when kid is on computer and wants person sending her IM (instant messanges) to know not to send anything the parent should not see.

Yes, I'm afraid the world of IM is a parallel universe of its own. Kids seem to take on another whole persona when they IM each other, and I've been shocked by some of the messages I've seen-- and those are just the ones my teens showed me. It's grim. Plus, the kids get 'addicted' to it, and you hear that stupid chime going off all the time, like when they are supposedly doing homework on the computer. Don't get me started...
