A/C necessary in Sonoma Memorial Day Weekend?

Hi,

Looking to stay in a B&B in Healdsburg on Memorial Day. Do you think we need air-conditioned rooms? I've seem some B&Bs note it while others did not.

Thanks.

Hi Gina, personally I wouldn't need a/c over Memorial Day weekend. But I don't feel the heat as much as some people do. It shouldn't be HOT while you are in Healdsburg. Do have a fun time.

I think if you have the choice you should go for AC. It can be very hot at that time of year. Even tho its a "dry heat" and not that humid, it can be uncomfortable.

Where do you live now? Do you use A/C during the summer? If the answer is yes, then go for the A/C room. It can get over 100 in Sonoma during the summer, although Memorial Day is a little early for that....

I think whether you use AC at home is a big consideration. We live where it gets over 100 in the summer and do just fine without AC, so it wouldn't be a big issue for us. If you use AC at home or don't live in a climate where 100+ temperatures happen, then get the AC.

Even if the days are warm, the nights will be cool. Just open your windows. Of course, you will want to stay somewhere that's safe and quiet.

HI--we were in Healdsburg for 3 days in May '07--the 6th--9th. The temp reached the low-mid 90s all 3 days. W/o the AC at the B&B, we would have been miserable. It *was* unseasonably hot, but personally I would not take the chance.

Thank you. I think we're going to stay at Haydon Inn with A/C.

Gina--you never replied about where you live--there is basically, no humidity in NorCal--even if it gets into the 90s during the day, it's not the sweaty, steamy 90s experienced in the rest of the country (usually). If you're concerned about sleeping--open the window and you'll be fine. Healdsburg isn't that big--the traffic "noise" will not be a factor.

I live in Boston and yes do use A/C during the summer. Like many said it may not be a necessity but given I liked the Haydon Inn anyways, the A/C will be a bonus if it's necessary. Cannot wait! Thanks
