ok, peace then. I'm glad I got that off my chest, I really thought you were harping on me for being coy or catty in some unknown way.
Have a nice day, sincerely this time.

And let's just all move on and have a good day- I have to go pack now!

Boy, gippielou, talk about nasty. So you think Scarlett left because of me? Now it's time for you to climb off your horse. Have a nice day.

Hello everyone , I have tried to recover from the agressivness I got last night asking for information.Let's get this right:I'm NOT sending my son anywhere today , and even though I do appreciate the fact that some of you tried to tell me that forums can be dangerous ,I was just trying to find out how I can fix up things as nicely as possible for him this coming summer , instead of remaining at home on his own while I'll be at work.
I had not idea that I would put up such a paranoiac panic!
thanks for all the websites some of you took time to send me.
Some of you seem to think Sophie's not a name for a woman , that's amazing , because I never met even an American male called Sophie before !
I don't exist , is that so?Simply because I am stupid enough to start asking questions on a forum that mostly talks about trips ?Sorry for asking questions to people who have such disdain and such a sense of superiority!I thought , we , French , were supposed to always feel that way , but as far as I 've seen on Fodor , some of you can beat us up!
Nevertheless , since I have always loved the U.S. and the people I met over there , I'll probably ask them again for help , even though I pretty much think that traveling goes along with discovery of new people and culture , and not always counting on your mother' s friends. It seems everyone focalised on the idea that I would send my son to any monster's house on the planet , but I was silly enough to offer an exchange program , with the supposed to be monster's teenage child staying also at our seaside tiny place as well...I guess it was easier to take the jump to conclusions outraged morals side !

Sophie, don't take this particular thread as the likes of most of us here. We are always more than helpful. One Frenchwoman wrote asking someone to pick up a bike for her child. Several of us replied and one who left the earliest brought it to her.

Scarlett DID NOT leave, she was busy packing-unpacking-packing
As Arnold said : (She'll be back)

I work at a college and we have had exchange students in my home and as student workers in my office/library at my university. There are all kinds of ways to obtain exchanges but you need to do it with some verification.

How old is your son? If under 16, I would think, that you would need more time than what you have before summer '05- to make proper arangements, unless you do wide searching within your French/American exchange systems for something solid with some good recommendations. You do not want to send him to someone/someplace not evaluated and just by word of mouth. Sorry, but that is the case.
