Yes, ditto above. Going to Nashville next week for 3 days. Where did you stay? Thanks for the great ideas. Any other advice welcomed, as this is a last minute trip.

auntgrapes and virginiafish, thank you both for reading my TR. That was our last road trip in Tennessee before the powers that be pulled us back to D.C. Since then, we crazy empty nesters purchased a 117 year-old Farmhouse (just the house, not the lifestyle) in the charming "wine and horse country" of Northern Virginia. Needless to write, the house demanded considerable disposable resources, and "trip reports" to Home Depot and Benjamin Moore would likely draw little interest here.

In 2023 we traveled to Dublin for DD's graduation from Trinity, but that was a whirlwind of merrymaking without any new sightseeing. Last year travel picked up with DS's wedding in SF and a long Providence/Boston weekend (again, not much to write about); then a brief tryst with a forever love (Vienna) and a wild Midwest Roadtrip for which I did post TR's here. 2025 holds more travel promise.

We stayed at this airbnb just a block or so from Honky Tonk Row. I can't find my review, though I see that the comments I sent privately regarding "IKEA furniture" and the wafer-thin sleeper sofa mattress" not being the luxury the loft described seem to have gone unheeded, as other have similarly complained. As for location, that airbnb was perfect for our plans, but I would not recommend it. Before the 'rona rage, DH and I spent a couple of nights in Nashville on a work trip at Vandy for him. As the lodging was paid for, I'll make an exception about beggars not being choosers and not recommend The Gaylord. I somehow scored a "private" group tour of the Grand Old Opry, which was fabulous, but was likely because it was December 2019.

Try all the Nashville Hot that you can. Take in Honky Tonk Row for all of its gaudiness. Go to the Frist. If you have a car, go to Cheekwood.
