A Little Outer Banks Help?
My wife and I will be at the Outer Banks the weekend of 11/11/06. I am running the inaugural Outer Banks Marathon, and I expect to have a HUGE appetite!
We're staying at the luxurious Ramada Inn in Kill Devil Hills (so I can catch a shuttle bus to the start of the race).
We've been to OBX once before, but that was 10 years ago. Care to share your restaurant and/or watering hole recommendations? (We like seafood a lot and are partial vegetarians--except for the seafood.)

I go to the Outer Banks 3 to 4 times per year, and could recommend Windmill Point Restaurant. We just ate there and the food was terrific. Lots of nice nautical antiques from the USS United States, including all of the dining room chairs. We had a nice view of the water and there were still windsurfers going at it in wetsuits. MP 16.5

Another good formal restaurant is the Black Pelican in nearby Kitty at NC 12 at Milepost 4.
There is a good sushi place called Fuji Mountain. They also do teppanyaki.
Another good seafood option is Carolina Seafood Buffet. It will be a little closer to you at MP 6 1/4.
