6 Nights in Arizona

I have 6 nights in Arizona. I would like to move around and see as much as possible, but I'd like to stay in just two separate hotels if possible. Can anyone recommend a good itinerary and where my two main places to stay should be. I'd like to see the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion, Sedona, Lake Powell, etc. Thanks.

Can't be done with just two stops.

It CAN be done with just two stops. Anywhere in AZ is between 3-5 hours drive no matter where you are. I would recommend staying near the Grand Canyon for the first part, Lake Powell is close by. And then Sedona, it's gorgeous with lots to do & see. Horsebacking riding, jeep rides, hot air balloons, slide rock, hiking, shopping, good restaraunts. Plus its the center of the state, so anywhere else should be easy to get to. I'm not sure where Bryce & Zion are exactly. Anyway, if you have more questions feel free to ask, I live near Phoenix. Have fun!!

You might try Flagstaff, which is between Sedona and the Grand Canyon for your visit to those two places. Then drive from there to Kanab Utah which is fairly close to Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Lake Powell.

Hi, Layla.
I work in the Tourism industry in Arizona and think that you will enjoy your trip out west. I think you would be best breaking up your trip into at least two different hotels so that you don't have so much backtracking to do. Please do not be mislead that anywhere in Arizona is 3.5 to 5 hours. If only that were true. Many times when you get out into the reservations you will need to add extra driving time to your trip.

A couple of suggestions, you might want to look up the other threads under Arizona. There is lots of information that will be useful. Also, you will need to look under Nevada for the Bryce and Zion information. Just remember that you will be driving around the Grand Canyon to reach them and it will take some time.

I don't know where you live, but one thing to remember is that things out west are a long way apart. The good side, most of the speed limits on the interstates in AZ are 75 mph. Phoenix will probably be 100+ for a while, but Sedona, Flagstaff, Jerome, Page etc. are comfortable.

Bryce and Zion are in Utah, not Nevada. The drive is very long between the south rim of the Grand Canyon and the Bryce/Zion area as you have to drive all the way around the canyon in in semicircular route that will take about 5 hours. So your first base in Flagstaff or Sedona is good with a second near the entrance to Zion would make sense. Also, the town of Williams, AZ has some nice places to stay and is a bit closer to the Grand Canyon south rim than Flagstaff would be.
