Las Vegas is about the nights -- not the days.
Daytimes -- go to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead, or Red Rocks, or even Death Valley.
Fly over Grand Canyon. Do spas or pool.
Eat chocolate.

We saw KA - highly recommend it - and Mama Mia. Also spent a day at the spa, a day walking, a day at Red Rock hiking.

OK .. Why are you asking that?

And no no dogs!!

I live in a condominium that doesn't even allow pets.

You might just see a felloe fodors poster walking his dogs down the Strip while you are here...search for the thread "LV trip taking dogs", something like that...pretty funny.
Anyway, MGM is good, it is big, and be prepared to walk and walk, but it is a good property. Mamma Mia is GREAT, one of my favorites!!! Mystere is great also. Seriously a "chocaholic"? Then, visit Ethel M's chocolate factory and cactus garden. 4 days is a good amount of time I think, you can do the Strip, go outside the Strip, see a few shows, and window shop in just that amount of time. Have fun!!!

For some people, 4 hours in Las Vegas is way to long. Judge for yourself when you get there. Las Vegas is what you make it. Expect low key, quiet elegance and refinement? Don't go. Have a sense of fun and adventure and get a kick out of over the top and tacky? You'll love it?

You can do a lot of things to keep busy in Las Vegas for 4 days (or nights).

You can go many places too without a car. There are bus tours to Grand Canyon, California, tours where they will pick you up at your hotel. A little planning and you will keep very busy.

Day one visit the casinos at the north end of the strip. Venetian/Treasure Island/Wynn/Mirage/ Caesars Palace, including a couple hours for Forum Shoppes at Caesars.

Day two visit the rest of the strip Bellagio/Aladdin/NYNY/Luxor/Mandalay

Day three take a break from all the glitz, get a car and ride out to Zion National Park for a change of pace, or Red Rock Canyon for a shorter drive, or out to Lake Las Vegas and Hoover Dam.

Day four go back and visit all your fave places, and you are gonna wish you had one more day.

Oops, if you're a chocaholic, on the day you have a car head out on west Sahara Blvd to Danielle's Chocolates. Dark Pecan turtles TO KILL YOURSELF OVER, she even makes her own vanilla fudge brownie ice cream. Closed Sundays so plan accordingly!

You could also rent a car and drive down to Laughlin. It's about a 2 hour drive, due south.

You can have plenty of fun and shopping and gambling in the day time and there are some shows that are cheaper during the day

It really does come alive at night and there are tons of clubs and bars to visit...

Definately visit Mandalay Bay, the Venetian, Caesar's Palace, and Bellagio (the breakfast buffet at Bellagio is so heavenly!). The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay is fun and a little spooky!

we were just there for 4 days/5 nights and it was definitely not too long...we weren't quite ready to leave.

Neopolitan is correct that you'll probably want to take day trips to some of the great parks in the area.

Honestly, there's just SO much to see and do....

Phew, I was starting to worry that 4 days would be too long in Vegas.

Thanks everyone!

Another question, does anyone know if we could use the Mandalay Beach if we are not going to stay there? They say the beach is nice!!!

Oh well.. guess not then.

It's actually sold out on 2 of the days that I am going .. darn it...

I guess moving hotels is not worth the while... but a waste of time!
