4 days without kids-1st time in 20 yrs
We are thinking about a quick getaway for just four days. Being of the sandwhich generation our plates have been extremely full, and there does not seem to be any relief in the near future.
This is a regeneration trip, just to reactivate the batteries. DH is hell bent on sitting on a beach in the Carribean. We have never done this before, and I am not so sure I could.
I know that we both need some uninterrupted sleep, and not too busy a schedule. I would like to take some time to rediscover my DH, and linger over a glass of wine and great food. For some strange reason, Boston seems to be calling me...
Anyone have any suggestions?

Boston is a great choice. It's a really fun and easy city to explore. We've got tons of great food, and you can do as much or as little as you want. You can walk the Freedom Trail, or just get pampered at a salon on Newbury St. You won't even need a rental car because the T (our subway) will get you to anywhere you want to go.

Can you tell us about your interests (shopping? spa? museums? sports? architecture?)
What kind of cuisine, budget?
I'd start here:

Bermuda. Temperatures early November are around 70 degrees - fine for sitting on a beach. Some very nice restaurants, very British/civilized atmosphere. Some interesting sightseeing and historic sights - but great for just relaxing. Good public transportation system so you don't need annoyance and expense of renting a car. Off-season but still good weather so I am guessing you could get a good hotel/air package. One caution - Bermuda is not cheap - but you were considering Caribbean, which is not either.
I live near Boston and love the city - but early November is often gray, raw, rainy.

If you enjoy museums, the Museum of Fine Arts and the Gardner Museum are wonderful. Not sure if Jersey Boys will still be playing in November, but it's a fantastic show. My fav restaurant is Rabia on Salem St. in the North End. If you like browsing antique shops and other interesting stores, you might enjoy a stroll along Newbury St.
