Suewoo:

I do Mardi Gras in Breaux Bridge, Eunice, Opelousas etc. Totally non-New Orleans. Boucheries, street dances, courirs [400+ horses and riders] and country restaurants.

It's a long way from Beaufort but worth it!

Well, we're leaving next Saturday for our Myrtle Beach trip; ok, technically, Pawley's. Staying at True Blue in a condo.

Figure we'll golf maybe 3 or 4x, sight see, have some seafood, and hangout. I can't wait.

Not sure which courses we're going to golf.....are there any ways to get discounts at any of them?

My husband wants to go to a seafood buffet once......he loved Captain George's in Virginia and MB has one, but others say Calabash is good. Any other ideas? Not cheap, but not high end, either.

Looking for any suggestions for fun. State park? Which water sports place to use? There's one in Murrell's Inlet (crazy sisters, I think) and Banana Boat Xpress. Just want to mix the trip up a bit. Oh, is there a zip line? I've never done that but won't waste teh money if it isn't really fun. I don't know. Just putting last minute stuff together. Figured I'd see if any locals had anything to add or say! one week to go!

I realize I repeated myself because there are already a lot of suggestions on restaurants, like the breakfast place, Eggs Up Grill. Just seeing if there is anything more, especially on the water sports and golf.

The Litchfield Restaurant out on 17 is a good breakfast place also--not the one with the shark coming out of the roof--across the road a little way.
Seafood buffets are SUCH a ripoff, but ..... They are ALL expensive--nothing "high end" about them. You certainly don't have to go all the wayto Calabash--it's a long way. They are all up and down the business 17. There may be one in Murrell's Inlet, but I think they think more highly of their seafood!! LOL There are certainly some in Surfside.
Don't know anything about the water sports stuff. There are kayak rentals available--they will deliver it to your condo, but with you all not on the water, that might not work right.

Soft shells should be in season now. The Seven Seas Seafood Market in Murrell's Inlet has beautiful fresh local seafood to cook if you want to.

They were a little early this year. I've had them at Atlanticville, Poe's, The grocery, and Eurasia. Plotting my next move!

I'm glad this got topped. The high today at Pawleys Island was 64 degrees. The high tomorrow is 68. Tonight will dip well into the 40s.

Point is, it can be warm or cool on SC beaches in April and even May. You take your chances.

Brian, you're right. But I'm telling you, today was odd. It's been too hot lately. Harbinger of summer.

Well, yes, of course. But we have had record number of 80* days in Charlotte, and yesterday it was in the high 30's at night.
I don't think you take that big a chance at the beaches this time of year for having gorgeous days, even if you have to put on a jacket, and you're not gonna swim in the ocean anyway.
We were at Litchfield last year when the lagoon FROZE--the herons were walking on ice and eating their fish, which was really pretty funny.

It was 33 when i got up this morning, here in Wisconsin, but warmed up to 60. I'm not a fan of seafood buffets myself. I hear there are great restaurants in Murrel's Inslet.
