30th birthday in Las Vegas, need advice on moderate yet fun place to dine on a Sat.
There are 7 girls going to Vegas to celebrate one's 30th. I have been in charge of the dinner plans for Saturday night. I want someplace fun and moderatly priced. Nothing too expensive. Any ideas?

Well, for $50 a head, you are still on the low side if you are including drinks. Two or three per person can eat up as much as 15-18 per person. I would suggest one of the Polynesian places like Tiki's at the Mirage. The food is nibly kind of stuff and you can have a blast.

Rec: RumJungle at Mandalay Bay. I is amost unique and happening place for younger individuals. It is a Brazilian style barbque. The description does not do it justice. Go later in the evening as it becomes a great nightclub and you won't have to pay the cover,

I don't know if you and your friends are familiar with teppanyaki-style Japanese cuisine (the chef prepares the food in front of the diners using elaborate knife-throwing techniques). If this sounds like something you might enjoy, you might want to look into Benihana Village at the Las Vegas Hilton, (although the Hilton is a long block off the Strip on Paradise Road).

I celebrated my birthday with three female friends last August at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. We had a fabulous waiter (who kept pouring free wine when he discovered it was my birthday!), a gorgeous view of the Bellagio fountains, and a wonderful bistro-style meal of escargot, steak and very French bread, for somewhere around $50 each, maybe a little less. If you decide on this, ask for a table inside but facing the fountains. Wish I could be there again for this birthday!
