Not enough info from you.
When, for how long, and for what purpose?
I'm not being difficult; since there is nothing that is exactly comparable, knowing what is important to you allow us to make better suggestions.
I have relatives who own/have owned on 30A, in the Sea Islands of Georgia, and on the coasts of both Carolinas.

Are there any other communities on the water with such a well-regarded "new urban" aesthetic that was developed with a master plan? I'd love to know the answer myself.
Celebration, Florida is one answer but not on the water. There's one in New Mexico, too.
But as Ack says, you need to divulge much more info about your requirements..

No wonder I didn't know - Mesa del Sol near ABQ is at this point just a subdivision, with few accouterments that would make it a planned master community like Celebration.

There have been several legal issues, foreclosures etc.
I am not familiar with Aldea of Santa Fe so I am not sure if it is truly a planned community or is just another subdivision with mixed types of housing.

It seems as if many places want to claim they are planned master communities.
I guess you can use any terminology in the press materials.
I am not at all familiar with the ones in New Mexico; I just read about their existence in an architecture blog someplace.
There are also some communities with community gardens and farms; there was one in Georgia that was featured on a tv show, maybe 60 MInutes, or the Sunday morning CBS program.
What would interest me is a place where I could live and not have to drive to services, restaurants, shops, etc. Manhattan is great for that but I was thinking of someplace with a better climate. I need to look up the walkability scores of various places....not that I plan to move anytime soon but who knows..
There is a long thread on Chowhound about places to live with good food scenes, moderate prices, decent housing options, walkability, etc etc. Centered on the Eastern, Southeastern US.
