24 hours in San Antonio with children

What do you recommend for us to see in San Antonio? Staying at Marriott Rivercenter. Will have two children, 10 and 12. 24 hours, next week. Suggestions?

Since you are staying on the Riverwalk you can walk around that area, take one of the boat rides and visit the Alamo. That won't take an entire day, unless you do some shopping. If you want try Fiesta Texas amusement park or Sea World. I've never been to Fiesta Texas but have been to Sea World and I love it.

Not sure if SeaWorld is open--they cut back their hours. THey might be opened on weekends only..if then! How about the zoo?

10 and 12 probably will not enjoy the Alamo. (But, it's very close, and you never know!)

I think a boatride along the Riverwalk is a must. If you have a car, then the zoo as well - not sure if it's open tho. Also, check which movie is playing at the IMAX at the Alamo.

Fiesta Texas is an amusement Park about 30 minutes or so away. I'm sure they would like that, but not sure if it's even open yet (nor Sea World). You can go to the Six Flags website and check "Six Flags Fiesta Texas".

By the way, next week its supposed to be sunny and in the upper 60's all week (except for Friday). Beautiful weather!

you've already received good advice. if your marriott is the one that is a part of the river center mall(the other marriott is across the street), you can catch the river boats right there. IMAX is also a part of that mall and their shows are spectacular. other higlights downtown are the Majik children's theater and ripley's believe it or not/plaza house of wax museum.

Kids that age would also love the buckhorn saloon or a view from the top of the tower of americas. The zoo is one of the countrys best, the theme parks are too far for one day... the river ride is great for kids. How about buying them a carton of cascarones at the market....Rosarios for lunch or dinner...Have a great time.

Thanks for the suggestions! I know our time there is limited. Was having trouble finding kid-oriented activities for February.
