2 Island Honeymoon: Maui and ?

Planning an 11 night honeymoon beginning April 19 with the last 6 nights in Maui at either the Four Seasons, Kea Lani, or Ritz. The first 5 nights are currently booked at the Princeville but I am concerned about the weather that time of year (the Hyatt currently has no rooms available for my first night). Any thoughts on the Big Island instead of Kauai as an alternative for the first part? How big of an issue is the weather in April at the Princeville Hotel? Additionally, while I know there have been multiple postings regarding the Maui accommodations, any further thoughts on the topic would be appreciated.

Roger, we are leaving today for 8th trip to Hawaii. Been to all islands. 1st Maui- I would avoid the Ritz, The beach is a long walk from the hotel, the weather in Kapalua is not as good as Kaanapali or Wailea.
April in Princeville can be a little shakey with thew weather. The nicest property on Kauai is the Hyatt.
You mentioned the Big Island- we are starting this trip at the Mauna Lani for 6 nites and then onto Maui for 8. The Mauna Lani is a hotel which my wife measures all hotels against since our 1st stay 4 years ago. LUXURY.
Kauai is beautiful but IMO the topography and sites on the BI is spectacular.
Wherever you decide to go, the trip will be wonderful.

If big island, stay at the Hilton property.

I believe I have emailed you before. Re the Big Island, I agree the Hilton Waikoloa Village is quite spectacular. Rates were pretty reasonable. Ask for their Bounce Back Rate which inlcudes a good buffet breakfast. Annemarie

Check in at http://www.konavillage.com on the big island. This is the kind of place we would want for a honeymoon.
