If you like to hike, the trail from the parking lot opposite the zoo up to Pittock Mansion is really nice

Wow, thanks so much everyone! This is just excellent local intell. Very much appreciated and I will make the most of your suggestions. I'll be there mid-May, so maybe the roses will be at least partially blooming! The arts market at the bridge and the riverfront do sound very nice. Good thing I can get a non-stop to Portland from SLC, I can see I'll be returning!

Happy Spring to All! The trees are leafing out and my daffodils just started to bloom in Park City, Utah. A foot of snow is predicted tonight for some great spring skiing at the Bird!

We really enjoyed the Japanese Gardens...glad to see you plan to include it. Allow at least 3 hours to wander around. It is beautiful and so relaxing.
