2-3 night anniv. trip/from Dallas in Jan.

Celebrating our anniversary (#34!) end of Jan. and thinking of going on Thurs-Sunday trip. Our weather is pretty fair, so warm or cold would be OK, but we don't enjoy just layin on the beach....prefer sightseeing. Price range moderate to expensive.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

New Orleans. Lots to eat, see and do and it's a one hour flight from Dallas.

Best choices:

NYC (any time of year)

San Diego (SUper Bowl is there this year so watch out)

San Francisco (mostly for the other area amenities like Napa...outstanding choice for gourmet food and B&B's, Muir Woods, Carmel, lots of great side trips)

Washington DC (easy to get around by the Metro...US's best subway system) with plenty to do, see, and eat

Let us know what you decide!

Denver would offer alot , and it's easily drivable surrounding towns-Boulder, EstesPark.Snow is a posibility, but mild-sunny days more likely.

San Diego, Calif. La Jolla, Calif. New Orleans, Arizona, (a spa type vacation,) NY City, San Francisco. Out of them all I would opt for New Orleans. Short flying time. Lots to do and great restaurants.
