1st trip to DC help for where to Stay

Other than Georgetown (which includes Dumbarton Oaks) who's residents rejected having a metro stop you can get to the other places mentioned - perhaps you will need to walk 10 minutes or so, but much. For example Adams Morgan is easily reached by the Woodley Park stop - just walk over the bridge and you're there. The stop is even named Woodley Park/AM. Kennedy Center is an easy walk from Foggy Bottom about ⅓ mile from the stop. Vietnam Memorial is about ½ mile from Foggy Bottom. Embassy Row is accessible from Dupont Circle metro. Not sure what you'd be looking for in Foxhall (which could be included inGeorgetown.) The Kreeger Musuem on Foxhall RD is fabulous and you might have to taxi/uber there if you wanted to see it.
Here's the metro web site that might come in handy
http://www.wmata.com/rider_tools/tri..._form_solo.cfm
And of course there are buses (also on the WMATA site) and the DC circulator bus http://www.dccirculator.com
Not really sure why any tourists would want to "hang out" at Gallaudet or Anacostia. Not any tourists sites that I am aware of.
Have fun in DC!
