I bought really great seats for my family of 4 on ebay for 30% off face value. We're in the 8th row center. It's called the Christmas Spectacular. Personally, I just feel more comfortable having my tickets in hand prior to arriving in NYC. Maybe you've already looked on ebay, but if not you may want to check this out. These tickets (like all Broadway tickets) are listed under "event tickets", then you can zero in on "theater" and the dates etc. I also bought our 4 tickets to see Movin' Out the same way so we're all set for our trip next month. I hate to pay all the service/garbage fees through ticketmaster and I'm not about to pay the horrendous broker fees for hard to find tickets. I hope it works out well for you as it did our family.

Those two dates are right in the middle of the peak holiday season in NY. Thus, your chance of obtaining discount tickets for performances on those dates are not that great. You probably won't do any better than the previously mentioned ebay purchase.
