Besides, sleeping, reading a book and playing music, you can work on crossword puzzles.

Last time I had a long flight, I downloaded the final four episodes of House of Cards onto my iPad, so I had hours of entertainment as needed. My iPad battery was fully charged, and I was surprised that watching these videos didn't use much battery.

Also, I bring a pair of headphones, not just earbuds, to better block the airplane noise.

I wish I could sleep on planes, but usually I can't.

I find intricate patterns very distracting. I think an adult coloring book and a few colored pencils would be great.

With long flights in our near future, I purchased a 'natural' sleep aid called Midnite. Also I'm downloading a few videos to my iPad. Wish me luck!

Actually, nowadays four hours flight is not considered as a long flight. Of course, the long and short duration depends upon the individual experience. Enjoying a short meal in flight will pass your time. If you are traveling in the daytime and sitting near to a window seat, enjoy the different nature outside. If you are traveling at night time, enjoy a short story and take a nap you won't come to know how you passed four hours....Enjoy your journey.
