Trip ideas for the winter

I would like to take 2 week trip from the US in November or December but am not sure where to go. I am a 30 yr old male and will potentially be travelling solo. I have been wanting to go to Turkey (too cold/dark?) and South America (too hot/crowded?), but am not sure if Nov/Dec is the best time. Any ideas/advice?

Turkey is going to be a bit too cold for you to get the full experience, it would probably be better to save it for another trip.

If you have two weeks and are feeling adventurous, how about the North/South of Vietnam and maybe Laos?

Because I'd want to go someplace sunny that time of year, I'd look at the Caribbean, Hawaii, or Mexico myself. Good weather all those places in those months.

Do you have any type of budget?

How about New Zealand or Australia? Weather there is great that time of year.

Also, consider islands in the South Pacific or perhaps an African Photo Safari.

<<and South America (too hot/crowded?)>>

I'm curious why you'd think all of South America would be "too hot/crowded"? What countries or cities are you specifically interested in?

Hi, Mr. Mas20

I’ve personal suggesting a December trip is the best time to visit in hot place. Hot in many places, cooler in the mountains. Many volcanoes, Jungle, coffee plantations, beaches, rivers, canyons, lively colonial towns, churches, markets, music and dancing, surprisingly good food including vegetarian options, friendly people, nice accommodations etc.

The North Island of New Zealand or East Coast of Australia should be warm with good weather during that time. As long as you weren't there at the end of December, there wouldn't be much in the way of crowds either.

November in South America shouldn't be too crowded, the tourist season really gets under way mid-December, I believe. I was there Nov to mid-Dec and had no problems.

mas20 posted and disappeared. May be a case where a newbie is waiting for an e-mail that there is activity on their thread.
