We’re rather looking forward to this next trip, especially as the Euro is headed south relative to the Aussie dollar.
We’re taking my mother-in-law, Helen, with us for the first three weeks. Helen’s a sprightly lass of 84, and we’ve put her in serious training for the trip. Training involves drinking proper coffee instead of that decaf muck, climbing stairs and drinking spritzes. She’s coming along nicely. She visited Venice for a day decades ago, and I’m really looking forward to showing her Venice. For me, she will be a fresh set of eyes – I’ll see things with her that I would otherwise overlook.
We’re staying in the same apartment as last time, so it will be a bit like going home. I’ll probably knock out another too-long trip report again, and Lou will do water colours.
We’ve found a Fodorite to house sit while we are away – this came about from a throwaway line in another post about needing a cat sitter. Small world and the house sitter is as much a Venice nut-case as I am.
