I'm looking for ideas/advice for my husband's 40th birthday trip in late July. I had planned on taking him on the Bourbon Trail for 3 days, but he is questioning if it will be too hot to go at that time. If anyone has any advice regarding this, OR any other solid ideas for a 3 day getaway with friends, I'd love to hear it!

I should add that we are coming from St. Louis, Missouri. Budget is around $3,000. Not wanting to travel too far (so as to be able to get our money's worth for our time.)
