Help Us Decide Where to Go

Hi all!

Two friends and I are planning one-week trip this January. However, we're indecisive on where to go. We figured if we posted our "wish-list" we might get some great suggestions!

Required:
- Mix of relaxation *and* activity
- Outside the U.S.
- Temperature is at least 60 degrees in January
- Package price of <$800/person (air + hotel)
- English spoken at least somewhat
- Relatively safe for 3 20-something women

Nice but not mandatory:
- In/near a metropolitan area
- Not somewhere everyone and their mother has gone
- Coastal location + beach
- Inexpensive attractions/dining/etc
- Day trip options
- Shopping and spas

Please email me at [email protected]. Much appreciated!

Mexico would probably be your best bet. You can get some great deals into Cancun.

Don't know how to guess prices, since we don't know where you are flying from.

But Honolulu might work for your group.

You could always try contacting a travel agents. They usually have a lot of great suggestions. They could help you with pricing also.

Hi

One of my favorite cities is Cape Town in South Africa. In January it is summer time there, the beaches are great, the city has lots to offer when it comes to sight-seeing an activities and the South African Rand is still cheap compared to the dollar and the price level is low.

I have been there 3 times and I would still like to go back I have posted trip reports with pictures on my homepage www.gardkarlsen.com if you are interested

Regards

Puerto Vallarta or other Mexico destinations probably your best bet. I would check with your travel agent ( that's what they are for ), but Mexico does sound the ideal place. Cancun if you want more lively.

Try Tahiti. After the Christmas rush, prices drop considerably and there are often very good values. Check out some of the Tahiti web sites. I consider French Polynesia the paradise that Hawaii advertises but isn't.
