Tenthumbs, "I hated all of them by the time I got home..." that made me laugh, we've always traveled really light out of one carry on and I've been temped to burn all my clothes when we got home!

I've had that "hated all my clothes" experience, too. When I was in NZ about 8 years ago, I didn't pack enough warm clothes, so I wore the same warming layers every day for about 2 weeks.

sorry i only now saw your question about a 1-wk pack list for hawaii/mexico/caribbean. mine goes something like this. it packs into a 24" rolling duffle bag.
2-3 bathing suits
2 sarongs for coverups
flip flops
2 pair sturdy but nice looking sandals
sneakers
2 short skirts
3 pair shorts
2 pair linen capri pants
7-10 assorted tanks, tshirt, cotton tops
1 linen vest
1 linen jacket &/or lightweight cardigan
straw sun hat
assorted undies, bras, socks for sneakers
robe &/or something to sleep in
beach towel
