Car Rentals and dropping at another destination

We (husband and I) are planning a U.S. trip where we will drop the rental car at a different city than picking up. Anyone found a rental company with no or minimum drop charges? I've checked the major companies. We'll pick up in SFO or , preferably, in the city of SF, and drop in Portland, OR airport.

Thanks for any/all information.

Check with Enterprise in downtown San Francisco. I just saw something on their website about one way rentals.
What do you want to see in northern California and in Oregon?
If you don't see the deal you want, the other option is to drop off the car back in San Francisco (or Oakland) and take the Amtrak Coast Starlight to Portland and rent another car there for the Oregon part of the trip.
What month and how many days for the trip?
It is easy to get out to the Portland airport from downtown Portland using the TriMet red line. The east end of the red line is right outside baggage claim at PDX.

What country are you from?

There are brokers that rent to overseas visitors all in (drop off fees, insurance, mileage, etc)

You'll get more replies if you post on the United States Forum.

If you are from Europe and book using the European websites many major companies don't charge for one way rental in the westernmost states.
