Ahissa, You've gotten some great advice here. I, too, always grab a business card for the hotel, even if I'm not traveling alone. I sometimes tear off the first page of the notepad in the room, too, if the address and phone numbers are printed on them.

suze offers a good suggestion of jotting down addresses of places you want remember in a notebook. Another idea is to take a picture of the building number, sign or facade for reference. Delete the picture later.

Have a great time!

You might jot down the address and phone number of your countrys embassy in the city you will be staying in. (don't know if you are American or not). In case of any sort of emergency, they are their to help you out. I've even been told to contact them and let them know the dates you will be in the country. I'm sure this is just in case of some sort of evacuation scenario. If they know you are there, and where you'll be staying, they can help you to evacuate. I had friends in Beiruit last year when the Hezbolla/Israel thing started. It was their family back home that contacted the US Embassy to try to help them get out. It took longer than it would have, had they notified the Embassy ahead of time. I know, it seems a bit dire....but it's always best to err on the side of safety. In these times, you never know. I actually think this can be done on line now.
