Sounds like you're planning way too many cities. You'll hardly have gotten to one when you have to take the train to another. These are cities - meaning they're big and have lots to see, not just their railroad stations!

1. You'll get more response if you post on the Europe board
2. If you haven't already bought plane tickets you'd do well to fly open-jaw - into one city and out of another.
3. You are trying to do too much. You could easily spend 10 days in London or Paris alone. I'd suggest 5 days in each, connect by train.
4. You need to spend some time reading guidebooks

yes - re-post over on Europe.
But your initial plan is totally inadvisable.
You'd have about 2 free days in London, 1.5 days in Edinburgh, then travel back to London and have 2 days in Paris, 1.5 days in Amsterdam, travel back to London the night before your flight home. That is not enough time in any of those cities. Edinburgh maybe - since it is a small place and you can see a lot of it in 2 days - but even there you'd want more time.
You'd be spending nearly 2 days on trains, checking in/checking out, packing/unpacking and transferring to train stations.
