If you have a US passport I am almost sure you will need a tourist visa for Brazil even for just a day trip. I was questioned about my nationality when I booked the tour. I used my non-US passport so I did not have to get a tourist visa for Brazil.
BTW.. US citizens also need visa for Argentina.. $160 for 10 years.
Yes, Argentina and Brazil were two separate trips.
For Argentina trip I made my own way to the park by bus but I am sure you can spend a little more to be picked up and dropped off at your hotel.
For Brazil tour the price included hotel pick up (7:30am) and drop off around 7pm..

sdtravels,
Did day trio to Paraguay from Argentina and it included trip to Brazil side of the falls. Tour was about US$40 per person with pick up and drop off from your hotel.
Since we were going to a "Commercial Zone"... we did not need a visit for day trip to Paraguay. We sort of had a "mandatory" 1 hr stop for shopping the visited the dam.
For me was worth the trip to check Paraguay of my "Bucket List" without have to spend $160 for a visa

Been reading up more in advance of the trip.
I noticed in one of DMBTraveler's videos that it shows a list of admission prices at the park. Argentine residents pay like 1/3 of the 215 pesos.
After reading up other accounts, I thought I'd book a tour which includes hotel pickup and drop-off, along with a guide. They say the tour will last 9 hours:
http://www.viator.com/tours/Puerto-I...71-3851D_FALLS
The tour operator is Say Hueque and on the voucher it says I would pay $20 USD to the guide for the entrance fee so a little less than the official fee at the official FX rates.
I then looked around the Say Hueque site. Maybe this info. is outdated but it lists a number of activities in the park, including some free boats.

But ti does also list the "Gran Aventura" boat which goes right under the falls, which sounds like the boat in the videos. But they say the price is AR $100, which would be a lot less than the 520 pesos?
Maybe the information on the Say Hueque site is out of date?

How much was tour? I think the trip is easy to do on your own and the bus ride from the central bus station is pretty easy and inexpensive.
Yes, the rate was more for tourist but have found this to be the case in a lot of other places that I have visited.
AR$100 is cheap for "Gran Aventura" boat so that price might be outdated but a great bargain if it is not

I paid $30. I figured that's $20 more than the 80 pesos round trip but if that guide provides any use, it could be worth it.
Plus the hotel I booked is far from the bus station, though I understand that the bus to the park stops nearby the hotel. Still nice to have a dedicated coach which would presumably be a better schedule than the regular bus (though it picks up at like 6:30 AM!).
