Starting from Iguazu finishing at Rio:Six days in end April

Dear folks

I have around 5-6 days after Iguazu before I reach Rio on 29/30th April. Would appreciate advice how best I use this to see some other highlights of Brazil.

one option is flying to Sao Paolo then to Paraty to Ilha Grande to Rio .
other to fly to manaus and do a tour in the Amazon to Rio
another to Salvador and surrounding areas back to Rio.
any other route maybe avoiding flight altogether

I like culture, music, people , food, photography , scenery . Cannot swim.
Would welcome your thoughts and chalking a route highlighting what to see.

Many thanks

Just came across this.

I'd recommend doing a short tour of southern Brazil. Start in the state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS).

Move across the wine region along the Serra Gaúcha (the municipalities of Bento Gonçalves, Caxias do Sul, Farroupilha, Flores da Cunha and Garibaldi).

While there, you can also check out more touristic places with a Euro vibe like Canela and Gramado.

Bordering RS to the north is the state of Santa Catarina (SC). With the heavy germanic influence in the region, you'll have fun doing the "Beer Route" (Rota Cervejeira). They give you a "passport" which entitles you to visit several microbreweries in the region, and sampling their brews, checking off each brew with a stamp in your "passport".

You can top it all off with a visit to either Florianópolis (the capital of SC) or Curitiba in Paraná, the state to the north of SC.

When it comes to Brazil, there's so much more interesting stuff to do than beyond the usual Rio/Amazon that the world is accustomed to.

Sorry for the late reply too . Have a great trip!

Late view and Salvador query please

Such good advice and sorry I missed this earlier. I am headed to Salvador from Rio in two days as I fly out to UK from there. Will be there for 3.5 days .

My questions please

Do I base myself in one place in Salvador for those days snd if so where?
Help with the itinerary?
Need to buy some inexpensive gifts as did not getva chance elsewhere.. any suggestions? More for men.

Thank you
