Rent a beach house in Uruguay or Argentina?

Hi, does anyone know about houses for rent in Uruguay or Argentina on the beach? My husband and I want to spend a week on the beach in Uruguay or Argentina in February-ish. We would prefer to be in a smaller beach town to experience a bit of the local culture. We are hoping to find something within 4 hours of a major airport. (I have been struggling to find places that are not in Montevideo or Buenos Aires.)

Suggestions? Websites?

Thanks,
Chantale

If I were you, I would consider this place: http://www.marayui.com.ar/en/index.htm

If it sounds like what you want, contact Elisa de Estrada Bosch Alvear (use the full name) at [email protected] or [email protected]

Tell her "Gallito" sent you and she may charge you a little more. Just kidding. LOL!!!

I believe she also has for rent a small house near the beach, outside the country club.

Have a great time in our country's beaches.

Jose Ignacio, outside punta del este. Pricey, beautiful, terrific. You should be able to find lots of information on rentals on the internet. There are real estate agencies/offices on every corner. Ask on TA under the punta del este forum. Good luck.

Hi Chant
The Rocha department in Uruguay offers beautiful little towns with gorgeous beaches, at more reasonable prices. La Paloma is the closest to Montevideo (220kms from Montevideo), and there is a great selection of beach houses, cabins, hotels and apartments. From here you can explore the rest of the department of Rocha - Cabo Polonio, Punta del Diablo, La Pedrera, Aguas Dulces, Laguna Rocha etc. I have a You Tube Channel with a video of last summer in La Paloma - http://www.youtube.com/user/zenlapaloma, also for more information on other beach towns in this department - http://www.uruguay.top.spots.com.
Suerte!

Jose Ignacio is much more sophisticated than Punta del Diablo although it is place where you are in touch with nature. It is expensive because it is trendy, exclusive and trendy. You can simply rent in Punta del Este , only a few miles W of Jose Ignacion and from there you can visit many lovely beaches to go swimming including Jose Ingnacio. You can go from P del E to JI just for the day. There are pleasant places to eat by the beach, righ on the sand. All Uruguay has
extraordinary beautiful beaches and they are close , I mean no big distances between them.
The beach are all nice, only difference some are more trendy, more fun, and of course more expensive than others. Rocha offers some nice ones llike La Pedrera etc.

I would guess that you will do better in Punta del Este itself, it is great ,lots of fun. Many retaurants and bars and the like. Lots of places to dance till next morning, all kind of beaches and all kind of sports at the tip of your fingers.
