Ipanema hotel

I am looking for a hotel in Ipanema for December. Do you have any recommendations?

You didn't mention price range or any other criteria, such as views, proximity to beach, etc.
We stayed at Sol Ipanema. It is a Best Western right across from the beach. Close to busses, restaurants, stores, ATMs. The breakfast buffet was ample. Rooms in front have the gorgeous view you can see on their website. Rooms at the rear have a favela view.

We would like to stay in Ipanema because it is proximate to beach and safer than Copacabana in the evening. We are traveling with our two young adult children. We are looking in the $200+ range in December. Did you like the rooms at Sol Ipanema? Any other comments about other hotels in the vacinity? Do you know anything about Ipanema Plaza? Thanks

We stayed at the Ipanema Plaza for one night last year. It has a good location about a block from the water and a great breakfast. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at Promenade Visconti and were very pleased. A couple of blocks from the beach, quiet, well-run, good breakfast.

The rooms at Sol Ipanema were small and basic. We, unfortunately, had the favela view, but I think our rooms would have been a thousand times better if they had been on the ocean view side. (Ocean view rooms cost a lot more.) The breakfast room has an ocean view and it was wonderful. The location right across from the beach could not be better.
Anyhow, we spent very little time in the room and I think it will be the same for you.
