Hiking in/around Buenos Aires

Does anyone have any recommendations for spending some time hiking in the BA area? A friend of mine only has a few days in BA and was looking to do some hiking. I was wondering if anyone could recommend nearby day trips, or maybe a single overnight trip?

I know of such trips in Mendoza, but she doesn't have time to spend flying somewhere else. I was wondering if anyone had such an experience at any of the estancias within range of BA, that they might recommend.

Thanks.

Hi, I have not done this but we plan to ... our friend has a home in Bariloche and he has been sending fabulous photos of he and his friends ( and elderly mom) hiking. They all look very fit and seem to be having such fun that my husband and I might try it too.
This would not be a day trip though, as you need to fly there.

There are a few estancias that people love.
Los Dos Hermanos is one ... if you just google Estancias Buenos Aires, you will find more names. I can't wait to go but my husband is not in the mood for horses this summer lol.

This lady wrote a great trip report on TripAdvisor - this part might be of interest to you..

You can spend a pleasant half day walking in the nature reserve on the banks of the river right in the heart of BA.

Bariloche is not exactly close to Buenos Aires.
