crellston, I hope you don't mind if I steal your "Post Travel Stress Disorder"! That's priceless.

Stu, I felt so guilty soliciting advice and then ignoring very valuable (no doubt) advice from an experience traveler. Regarding typos, well, I have always gone with the "gist". It's the only way to live! And thanks for trying to put av on the hook for dinner, (you troublemaker, you) but, seriously, we couldn't take advantage of his generosity. We will only go out with him (and his lovely wife) if he truly wants to and if we are paying.

av, your 'Excellency' certificate is in the mail. Regarding the "rather vague noises" that you made, well, that takes us back to crellston's point....I am finding those more common in old age.

To get back to the topic at hand, I will apologize in advance, as I will likely have many more specific questions to come. And, then there's my sister. Did I warn you about her? (Sorry Carolyn. )

O.K., here's my first substantive question of this post, after babbling on too long...is La Feria De Mataderos worth going to? We arrive in BA very, very early on a Sunday morning. No doubt we will want to crash for a little while. The next Sunday we will be in Chile, and the following Sunday we will be back in BA, but want to make sure we go to the antique market in San Telmo. Should we hustle our butts over to the cowboy fair the very first day we are in town? It sounds interesting.

geenance: if we meet for dinner or whatever, you can forget about picking up the tab.

What I usually tell female forum friends in similar situations goes just about like this: "Honey, this ain't New York and you are sitting with The Rooster. LOL!!!

What I mean is that, according to my despicable "macho latino" mentality, it is rude for a lady to even reach for the check when she is sitting with an Argentine of the male species, simply because that means she feels he is not a gentleman.

About Sunday in BA, from years ago: http://tinyurl.com/ovh8f

Have a great time in our country with your sis.
