Cory - We signed up with the boat the Millennium, but when we got to the Galapagos someone was waiting for us and told us the boat was out of commission and we had been changed to the M/V Santa Cruz. This was a larger boat/ship. 90 passengers. The guides were great.

I am attaching some information about this ship. We went for 5 days, I believe. It was at the beginning of August 2 years ago.

Paid less than what they are quoting because we paid for the Millennium, which is cheaper, but they honored the price we paid when they changed us to the M/V Santa Cruz.

Oops - We went at the beginning of September, not August.

We're going in May because there are some animal activities we want to see and because we have been told the water is calm then.
So far, our dealings with Galapagos Travel have been wonderful, which is much more than I can say about some of the other companies we contacted.

Going in September we were able to see the waved albatross which has chicks then.

I don't think thar there is a bad time to go. Howver, in September it was coolish which was perfect for all the walking and hiking we did. But water was cold. We wore wet suits. Temperature during the day was in the. 70s.

Just to tag on to this, I decided to go with Angelito, another reasonably priced boat. They can be booked directly through www.cometatravel.com, excellent communication. They offer a small discount for direct booking, but the downside is that the only way to pay is by wire transfer into their account in Panama.

I'm going in June, I had wanted to go in May but my original booking with Road Scholar on Seaman Journey was cancelled by Road Scholar.
