Cruise from Valparaiso VISA Requirement

We will be going on a Viking cruise next December leaving from Valparaiso. We’ll probably stay overnight there to avoid any issues with flight delays. Do we have to pay the $131 VISA fee even thought we are essentially transiting Chili to get to the ship? Does staying overnight make me a non-transit traveler?

I am guessing from the amount you mean the US passport one. If you are referring to the reciprocity fee for US passports that disappeared a few years ago. There was never an in transit option unless you stayed in the transit area airside at the airport. The fee for Australians disappeared in December.
