Advice on Chile itinerary
Please can travellers comment on this proposed itinerary for mid February 2018. We have about 2 weeks but are flexible.
Middle aged active couple, we like self driving not tours, we are wine producers interested in nature, cities, food, art. Would also quite like some beach time somewhere if possible.
3 nights Santiago
Rent a car for
2 nights Santa Cruz (wineries) and
3 nights Valparaiso
Back to Santiago for flight to Atacama
3 nights San Pedro rent a car for excursions
Fly back to Santiago and home to Italy
Is this a good distribution of our time? Are there any nice beach locations en route where we could spend an extra day or so?
Thanks for advice

Three nights in Valparaiso seems like too much to me unless you planned to visit the Casablanca vineyards one day from there. From Santa Cruz you can easily get to Pichilemu on the coast. There will be a lot of people there in February but that is true of everywhere on the coast. I would take a night off Valpo and add it to Santa Cruz.
Make sure you fly back the day before your international flight.
Book what you want soon as February is the busiest month.

Thank-you Huentetu
We were planning on visiting Casablanca & San Antonio Valley from Valparaiso so thought 3 nights would be best. We have also now added 2 nights in Puerto Varas before flying to Calama.
Our itinerary looks like this:
3 nights Santiago
Rent a car for
2 nights Santa Cruz (wineries) and
3 nights Valparaiso
Back to Santiago for flight to Puerto Montt
2 nights Puerto varas
Fly to Calama (via Santiago)
3 nights San Pedro rent a car for excursions
Fly back to Santiago 1 night (late flight so close to airport?) and home to Italy
Does this look good?
Thanks for advice about booking soon. We have booked Aubrey, Casa do Campo, Casa Higueras, Los Caiquens and Terrantai lodge.
Any restaurant/tour suggestions much appreciated.
