BA Montevideo Iguazu Flight Feedback Please---And soon!

After many trips to different websites, I have come up with this itinerary. I tried to make the layovers shorter, but I could only find 1 hr layovers or less and that's cutting it too close I think. Tell me what you think please, and is it too expensive? Mind you, this is during Christmas season. After searching the airlines (Lan and Pluna) themselves, I put this itinerary together on Expedia, as they are great about E-mailing or calling when there is a change...and there always is a change. We pondered the Buquebus-bus option to Montevideo, but it seemed to take more time than we had. We are taking a bus to Mendoza. Thanks in advance for the help!

Mendoza to BA arrives 4:25pm in BA , then BA to Montevideo leaves 6:50pm arrives 7:35(the same day) Lan and Pluna. Leaves Montevideo 8:35am arrives BA at 9:25 and leaves for Iguazu 1pm. Pluna and Lan. Leaves Iguazu for BA, Lan. Total including tax $650 USD. What do you think?

These are a few things you must check, there are two airports in Buenos Aires, One is far from downtown called Ezeiza or new name Pistarini the other one right in the heart of town is called Aeroparque. Most Pluna flghts use Aeroparque. Lan also for national flights for international flights uses the far away one.
BUs to Mendoza is a long drive. If I am not sure but I believe it is 1.000 kms? Not much to see during the bus drive. I mean the only good reason to go by bus obviously is the savings.
Be sure you give yourself enough time between arrivals and departures specially if you are arriving and leaving from different places. I do not know where bus leaves but surely you can see it in a map. Buena suerte.
There is one airport only in Montevideo.

Thanks Graziella. All flights connect via AEP (I assume Aeroparque) in BA. The Mendoza bus is the overnight bus and we figured it would save a a few bucks and since these buses seemed pretty luxurious, we figured one night would be enough. I think that 2 hrs and 3 1/2 hrs layovers should cover us.,..do you? What do you think of the price for all (not including the bus) $650? We chose Lan and Pluna, as they seemed the most reliable.

Hello,
I think the price seems ok, but you might be able to find something cheaper through a local tour agent in Buenos Aires...they're impartial and will give you other travel tips and sometimes they'll offer you hotels, tours etc...
i would say as a general rule add on an hour extra that you think you'll need! Getting the overnight bus is a good idea, they're usually very comfortable too!
Have a good trip!

Thanks! Any tips on good reputable travel agents in BA, that speak English and I can call by phone as well as E-mail would be most appreciated. So, by your response, I am assuming that our 2 hour and 3 housr layovers are prudent and not too long. Thanks again for the response.

In this forum there are people that love one agent and others another, I always go to WOW Argentina , Cintia and Matias the owners are really wonderful people they are professional and their agency is duly registered, bonded etc.
look into wowargentina.com.
Of course people look for different things some only think of saving one peso or as many as possible others like me feel that more pesos are being "saved "getting the best for your money
as well as security and excellence in service.

I am among the people who love another travel agent.

I suggest you research Isabel by typing her name in Trip Advisor's search feature: http://tinyurl.com/nw9f4 and draw your own conclusions.

Hi, I contacted Cintia at WOW and she couldn't help me with this aspect of my trip. Only the touring BA part, as we already had our hotels. Also, Isabel, who was great, and wrote me about possible hotels choices, but when I mentioned that I wasn't prepared to pay for an agent to do hotel bookings as I was doing that myself and wondered if she was giving me this info with the intention to get paid for it (I really was only interested in BA tour guides at the time), was I think offended and quit writing me. I felt badly...not wanting to be misunderstood, but sometimes that just happens.

I almost feel too awkward to write her again about airfares. Maybe I'll try. But, any other suggestions...or anyone in the USA who deals with Argentina travel?

Got in touch with bsas4u and initially they contacted me and I E-mailed them all the dates and places as requested by them...and since then nothing. Any other suggestions for travel agents that could help me get a better fare than $650 for the six of us? Thanks!
