Day trip guides in Sacred Valley

Can anyone recommend a good guide who can be hired for on a daily basis in Sacred Valley? I will be in Cusco for several full days while visiting Peru and wanted someone who could take a couple out to tour some of the areas like Pisac, Ollaytantambo, and other villages, towns and ruins in the valley. I have all the reservations made for the travel and hotels, but would like an English-speaking local who can help us to better understand what we are experiencing. If anyone knows of tour companies who fill these kind of needs, that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Do a search for the names Vidal Jaquehua, David Choque, Percy Salas (?? not 100% sure on Percy's last name) ... they all come highly recommended. I can recommend Vidal from first hand experience; a couple of other people have used him recently as well. Here's my review for Vidal (he is the owner/manager of a small local company called Adventure Holidays Peru): http://www.fodors.com/community/sout...mmendation.cfm

We're just back from two weeks in the Sacred Valley area. Trip report soon. We used several different personal guides during our trip. We hired a guide at the entrance to the Pisac ruins, used Lallampath as well as a local independent guide, Mario Tapia Meza. The best experience and most reasonably priced guide was Mario (aka Chino) from Leap Local. This is an organization for local guides. His email address is [email protected], you can read about him at this website; www.leaplocal.org/locals/view/126

Hope this helps.

I would also recommend Jose Cuba who is based in Cusco. He took us to Pisac as well as ruins around Ollantaytambo, the salt mines, Machu Picchu, etc. He was detailed oriented, very informed, very pleasant. We arranged him through intenseperu.com but you can maybe arrange him directly as well.

I can add a personal recommendation for Percy Salas. We used him in October 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. His English is excellent and he has a pleasant, laid-back personality. He took really good care of me/my daughter. Here's a photo of him in my Sacred Valley album:
