One way car rental Salta to Tucuman???
I am looking to rent a car from Salta to Tucuman (then taking a overnight bus on to Mendoza), January, 2010. All the car rental web sites I tried said "sold out" which makes me think they dont offer any one-way rentals?

That could be. I'd call the toll-free numbers, explain what's happening, and ask if there's any way around this.

I believe "one way" car rentals are, if available, extremely expensive here.

When we were planning our trip last year, we were able to get one-way car rentals. However, as AV said, they were incredibly expensive.

One way car rentals are expensive, the drop off is expensive.

shoot - was hoping to take a bus from Tucuman to mendoza rather than flying from Salta...can we take a bus from Salta to Tucuman and then do the Cachi/Cafayete loop from there? Will we miss out on anything doing it this way?

We drove the following which is a big circle: from Salta to Cachi, Cachi to Cafayate and Cafayate to Salta. Each leg had different scenery and each was wonderful. What are u looking to see?

Found a one-way rental that isnt too much Now I just need to come up with a route....

yestravel - is there a way to email or repsond to a memeber directly? I wouldnt mind getting some tips and details on driving from you - but I havent figured out a way to do that in this forum?
