What to do in LA and do we need a car?
We are flying from Florida to LA in May for a wedding. We will be staying in Beverly Hills and are staying 4 nights. We have a couple of days before the wedding to do LA activities. We have previously gone to the Getty and visited Santa Monica and Venice Beach. From reading the posts on this forum, I know there are other museums and areas worth exploring. What are your favorites. Do we need to rent a car?

I can't imagine visiting LA without a car!!!
Everyone should do a walk down Hollywood Blvd, a great combination of class, tacky, and kitsch, all at once.
Peterson Car museum is great if you're into that.
Go see the new Walt Disney concert hall.
Drive along Mullholland Drive (oops, that doesn't look right at all).
Go to Griffith Park.
If you have an evening available, go see a concert at the Hollywood Bowl -- do a picnic there beforehand, or splurge, get a box and have your picnic right there.

Yes, you definitely need a car in LA! I would also add the Kodak Theater complex in Hollywood & Highland if you're into the whole Hollywood scene.
Los Angeles County Museum of Art (near the Peterson Museum of Cars) in La Brea area.
If you're heading to the Disney Hall, then pay a visit to the Museum of Contemporary Art a couple of blocks away.
For a smaller museum, try the Norton Simon in Pasadena. Great restaurants all along Colorado Blvd (the stage for the Rose Parade every year!).

I like the Huntington Library in Pasadena. It is not a library, it is a former stately, huge residence that is now a museum (Blue Boy is there) and gardens. The gardens are themed (eg. cactus garden, etc.) Very nice afternoon, and you could have lunch and shop in Old Town Pasadena too.

Ooooh, yes, see the Huntington Library if you get a chance - May will be peak rose season and the rose gardens are awesome. My favorite are the thousands of ladybugs that come in every color under the sun! They also have a nice tea house where you can have a delicious proper afternoon tea with all the sandwiches and little desserts you can eat.
